A.M.P.S. Notice to Families

Monday, May 15, 2017.

Dear A.M.P.S. Families:

RE: Coyote-like animal sighting

Today, we were advised that a coyote-like animal was sighted near the school in the area of the park near Ford Wilson Blvd. & William Booth area.  Because the notice was received late in the day, it did not affect school operations including outdoor gym classes or outdoor recess/lunch. As a precautionary measure only, we have advised the York Regional Police and the Town of Newmarket.

We will continue to closely monitor the school yard. As always, the safety of our students and staff is our top priority. If you are aware of the animals please notify authorities immediately, do not approach them or offer them food or treats. If you have any information about these animals, please call York Regional Police directly at their non-emergency number: 1-866-876-5423, or in an emergency, call 9-1-1.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at (905) 895-9466.

Sincerely,

Richard Erdmann
