Our For the Love of Reading Read‐a‐thon is here!!! We are thrilled to announce
that we will be hosting our first Read‐A‐Thon fundraiser. All Students will
participate in our Read‐A‐thon during the week of March 31st‐ April 4th, 2014.
Students will set a reading goal for the week and collect pledges from family &
friends (no door to door canvassing please) to support their efforts. All funds
raised from this event will be used to support literacy purchases for our library,
our classrooms and help support the costs of our online literacy resources for
Individual donations of $25.00 or more can receive a donation receipt. Please
allow 6‐8 weeks for receipt to be sent to our school. If you wish to have a tax
receipt for donations of $25.00 or more, you must submit your pledge by cheque
only, made out to Alexander Muir Public School~ ‘For the Love of Reading’
including your full name and address on the cheque for the receipt to be
processed by the YRDSB.
Bookmark Contest~ We invite students to be creative in designing a Reading
Bookmark. All entries will be reviewed and many will be made into bookmarks
that will be given out to all students at our school at the end of the Read‐a‐thon.
Entries must be submitted to the office by Friday, March 28th.
Please return the pledge form and all donations to the school no later than
Monday, April 7th, 2014. We thank you for your support of this fundraiser!
